Happisburgh Lighthouse at Dusk

Happisburgh Lighthouse at Dusk

Having published my first blog post, I thought the page looked a bit bare and thought I would add another to balance it.

I was testing my secondhand Canon 70-200 f4 IS on the Canon 5D Mk3. Happisburgh is my favourite beach to visit in Norfolk. If I go there, no matter how many times I’ve photographed the lighthouse, I have to take another. I will likely photograph it another 100 times. Most of the time, you can find an angle on it bathing in superb light.

I can confirm all the new camera gear works perfectly. I haven’t even added any sharpening to the final image. I never mentioned how many shutter activations the Canon 5D Mk3 had. The above image is shutter activation 747.

I can confirm the lens is perfect.

I couldn’t visit Happisburgh and not walk along the beach. In the evening, as you look back toward Sea Palling (you can see in the distance), the sun is on your back, lighting the eroded wooden sea defences in warm light.

Make sure you go at low tide. You can get cut off.
